File and Folder Attributes
Overview of all file and folder attributes supported by Windows:| Attribute | Description |

| Archive (A) | File or folder is marked for archiving. |
| Compressed (C) | File or folder is compressed. |
| Directory (D) | This is a directory. |
| Encrypted (E) | File or folder is encrypted. |
| Hidden (H) | File or folder is hidden. |
| Normal (N) | A normal file without special attributes. |
| Not Indexed (I) | File or folder that is not indexed by the Windows Index Service. |
| Offline (O) | The file is offline. Its content is not always available. |
| Read-only (R) | The file is read-only. |
| Symbolic Link (L) | File or folder that points to another file or folder. |
| Sparse File (P) | This file is a sparse file. |
| System (S) | File or folder used by the Windows system. |
| Temporary (T) | The file was created temporarily and may be deleted at any time. |
| Virtual (V) | This attribute is used only by the Windows system. |
