File and Folder Attributes

Overview of all file and folder attributes supported by Windows:
AttributeDescription
Archive (A)File or folder is marked for archiving.
Compressed (C)File or folder is compressed.
Directory (D)This is a directory.
Encrypted (E)File or folder is encrypted.
Hidden (H)File or folder is hidden.
Normal (N)A normal file without special attributes.
Not Indexed (I)File or folder that is not indexed by the Windows Index Service.
Offline (O)The file is offline. Its content is not always available.
Read-only (R)The file is read-only.
Symbolic Link (L)File or folder that points to another file or folder.
Sparse File (P)This file is a sparse file.
System (S)File or folder used by the Windows system.
Temporary (T)The file was created temporarily and may be deleted at any time.
Virtual (V)This attribute is used only by the Windows system.
