Start Type

The following options apply exclusively when using the start type 'Windows Shutdown':
  • Show task log at scheduler startup if an error occurred during task run
  • Extend wait time before displaying the Windows shutdown dialog
  • Rules when ending Windows session


Windows Shutdown

  • Show task log at scheduler startup if an error occurred during task run
    If this option is enabled, the scheduler will display the log of the last task with an error at the next startup.
  • Extend wait time before displaying Windows shutdown dialog
    This option extends the time before the Windows shutdown dialog appears.
    When enabled, the following registry entries are modified:
    • HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ HungAppTimeout = 500000
    • HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ WaitToKillAppTimeout = 500000
    • HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ AutoEndTasks = 0
    When disabled, the values are reset to their defaults:
    • HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ HungAppTimeout = 5000
    • HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ WaitToKillAppTimeout = 20000
    • HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ AutoEndTasks = 0
    Note: Changes take effect only after restarting the computer.


Rules when ending Windows session

  • System Action 'Log Off'
    For ending the Windows session with the system action Log Off, one of the following rules can be set:
    • Do not cancel system action and start tasks
    • Cancel system action, start tasks, and log off user
  • System Actions 'Restart Windows' and 'Shut Down Windows'
    For ending the Windows session with the system actions Restart Windows and Shut Down Windows, one of the following rules can be set:
    • Do not cancel system action and start tasks
    • Cancel system action, start tasks, and shut down Windows
    • Cancel system action, start tasks, and restart Windows
